Taipei Aug`12 DAY 2!

On the second day of the taipei trip with the uni girls, we went according to our itenarary plan which was; Hello Kitty Cafe the first stop for brunch!

A group shot of us while waiting for the train.

The happy lulu who spent a bomb on her VANS Hello kitty shirt just to wear it to the hello kitty cafe. And this dear girl of mine have been waiting for this day to arrive for the longest time.

Reached the MRT station nearest to the Hello Kitty Cafe.

Exit 3, towards Daan Road.

Huge Sogo departmental store just opposite the MRT exit.

The hardworking girls figuring out the way to the cafe.
And if i remeber correctly, it's just a straight walk after exiting from the exit 3 and turn right into the 2nd lane.

The prominent shop along street of all the dull colored shophouses.

All of our jaws dropped as we entered the cafe. It was really as pretty as what we seen on the web and thankfully, we were there quite early (about 11amish?) and thus, given a seat without haing to make prior reservations. The crowd starts to walk in later at about noon time, so it's better to make reservations if you are planning to visit the cafe during lunch time.

Pretty and comfy seats.

The second level which wasn't as pretty as the 1st level.
But this is the only area/seat that can accomodate a huge group of about 12 pax?

Even the toilet is equally beautiful. Not sure about the gents though.

Our drinks that came in our dessert set meal.

Pudding which is included in the set meal too.

One of the best beverages there.
Pudding milk tea i guess?

Berries ice blend.
A little too sour for my liking.

Us with our happy desserts.

6 different types of dessert for the 6 of us.
The one I love best was the cream cheese tart (2nd picture)

Though we got kinda sick for too much of sweet stuff and we couldnt share because there's a minimum purchase for each pax (300NT /pax), but our overall experience was great and I wouldn't mind going back again for the pretty ambience and yummy food.

Oh yes, they don't just serve desserts only but also main course as well. And by just looking at the table beside ours filled with main course (4 course meal), I've already decided to go back again for their main course.

Second stop was : Taipei 101 ! Another tourist attraction which some of the other girls claimed it was boring and refuse to go. But since it was a virgin taipei trip for a couple of us (including me too), we managed to convince the rest of the group to the famous Taipei 101!

Boarding the public bus towards 101.

And I swear the bus driver lady was the most reckless driver I've ever seen in my entire life. We were literally swaying from left to right and vice versa despite holding on the the handrails tight.

10 mins and we reached 101.

Okay! I must admit that 101 was kinda boring with all the atas brands which you can find in Singapore. It's like a paragon in Taipei?
But since we're there and the weather was scorching hot with slight drizzle, we decided to spend some time there for window-shopping.

Agnes B cafe

And we took the free shuttle bus back to the mrt station.
Bus ride was smooth and the driver could speak in 3 languages; Mandarin, english and japanese!

Wonder why would people rather pay to take the public bus with poorer service?
Hmm...

Me wearing Lu's cap and Lu's with her sunglass.

And right opposite the mrt station was this famous orange bear shop that manufactures plus sizes clothes which are equally trendy and pretty. And the good thing about this shop was it does not only sell plus sizes clothings, but also the smaller sizes as well. In another words, a WIDE range of sizes, from about UK6/8 - UK 20?

When I first stepped into the shop, I thought I wouldn't grab anything and suits me because the shop was filled with many plus size patrons. HOWEVER and surprisingly, I managed to get a pretty crochet dress in the smallest size which fits me well. And I love it so much that I wore it on the first day of my bkk trip after I got it washed ! hehe! The other girls manage to get pretty jeggings too! Oh yes, prices are affordable and reasonable as well. Range from SGD10 - SDG 25? depending on design and material.

Afterwhich, we went to WuFenPu! Women's cheap shopping paradise which is like our Sg's bugis street but so much bigger! So big that we had to go back there again on the 4 day to complete our shopping.

But before we start our massive shopping, we built up our energy at the famous Famosa Chang's braise pork rice for early dinner!

Each bowl costs about SGD 1.30 and the second bowl at only half price!
WHY SO CHEAP!?!??

Our start point of Wu Fen Pu.

The yummy mee sua cart that moves around wu fen pu!
The gravy isn't as thick as the one we have in Sg's Shilin and the oysters aren't that smelly. I personally prefer this than the famous Ah Zong Mee Sua!
It was so yummy that I told the girls I wanted another bowl on our second visit on the 4th day.

Oh yes, besides mee sua, uncle sells "You Fan" (oil rice) which is also known as gultinous rice in Sg.

When night falls, we made our way to yet another famous night market which was located within walking distance from Wu Fen Pu shopping district.
It was about a 20 mins walk though and the weather was really hot and humid that we were soaked in our sweat upon reaching.

Compare to Shilin night market, this RaoHe night market sells more varieties of yummy food which we've never seen before. But, it was rather cramp and crowded even on a weekday night that we barely have space to walk!

The first stall that we stopped for good food when we entered the night market was this famous BBQ scallop stall.
And another must-try striked off from our list ! :)

One of the best BBQ scallop I ever had.

Non-stop eating !

"Jian Dan" (fried eggs)

The spcial thing about these fried quail eggs is that they are marinated in different types of flavours. And this stick was the mixed combo of all the flavours.
Can't remember the flavours though, but I love it!

Doraemon pancakes?
Got the custard and red bean filling ones, but were quite disappointed because they tasted really normal.

Another one of my favs!
Peanut shaves + ice cream popiah!
Suit best for sweet tooths like me and I am really impressed with such innovative food ideas from Taiwanese.

Young boss shaving/scraping peanut bits from the huge block of sweetened peanuts.

Seems like any/all types of sausages in Taiwan taste good!

"Bao Gu" (Abalone mushroom)

Definitely something unique and I love all the different types of flavours!
And oh yes, I'm a big fan of mushrooms which also explains why I ate almost all of them. heh heh!

Back to our hotel after a long day and again, our nightly sin with cup noodles and chips!

But this time round, with new companions of beers.
And mind you, these beers doesn't even taste like those normal bitter beers like tiger, heineken etc. They are fruit flavoured and tasted really sweet.
I almost succumbed into buying a carton back but there wasn't enough space in my baggage anymore :( Mega Sigh!!!
Does anybody knows if I can get this in Sg and if yes, where ? I'm missing these fruit Taiwan beers so much !
